Another month gone! We’re nearly a week into June. And with the start of June, it’s time to take a look back at what was watched in May.
May was a pretty low viewing month for me. I have been working on a personal research project which has consumed much of my free time. But, I still managed to get a few handfuls of viewings in! Here they are.

The month in blogging:
May’s featured “Favorite Things” film was a weepy one, Douglas Sirk’s All That Heaven Allows, starring Jane Wyman and Rock Hudson.
Adding to the blog’s everlasting exploration of films adapted from books, I shared a review of James M. Cain’s Double Indemnity, which of course serves as the source material for a fantastic film of the same name, starring Barbara Stanwyck.
Speaking of noir and adaptation, I covered another type this month as well: the remake. I watched 1984’s Against All Odds and compared it to its predecessor, Out of the Past (1947).
From my vintage mag collection, I shared Picturegoer magazine’s insights on the supposed “film famine” of 1938.
Fascinating to imagine going a whole month without any re-watches! If I kept a tally like this, it would all be re-watched films with one or two “new to me” movies a month. You’re obviously more adventurous than I am.

I think this is the first month in the history of the tally that I’ve had 0! I do tend to have more new-to-mes than rewatches most months, though.

You blanked me this time around…I haven’t seen ANY of your past month’s movies! However, I do own ‘Man in the Attic’, so I guess that counts for something! Interesting to see only 12 movies listed…that sounds like one of MY typical months!
