Yesterday I learned that people have nicknames for the time between Christmas and the new year. I’ve never thought of it as anything but a typical week, but my favorite name of the bunch is “Betwixtmas” — so, I hope you all had a lovely holiday, and hope that Betwixtmas is treating you well, too!

As we wrap up the year, I thought I’d squeeze in one more collection update and share my movie-related Christmas gifts, recent Criterion pick-ups, and other bits and bobs I’ve gathered since I posted my birthday haul back in August.

The list will probably look a bit massive, but keep in mind that all of this was collected over several months, and none of it at full price. (There have been several Criterion sales and a Kino sale since the last Collector’s Corner.) I must also extend a special thank you to my mom, dad, and boss for their generous Christmas gifts!

This was such a delightful surprise to receive from my mom at Christmas! I have an original ad for Once Upon a Honeymoon framed on the wall above my collection of film books; this is going to look great hanging next to it. I now have the beginnings of a Cary Grant tribute wall!

This is the only item I’ve ever purchased after seeing it on Instagram, haha. I rarely buy new clothes, but I couldn’t resist! Studiohouse Designs is a small business run by movie enthusiasts — definitely one to check out if you’re a fan of horror films. This particular design is out of stock at the time of this writing, but you can see other shirts, pins, patches, and more at StudiohouseDesigns.com.

  • Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries Holiday Pop-Up Collectible

Another super cool gift from mom! This is a DVD of a Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries Christmas episode, which doubles as home decor! When you open it up, it has a pop-up Miss Fisher for display. (If you haven’t watched this series, I highly recommend it.)

Did you receive or buy any neat films/film-related gifts over the holidays? As always, feel free to share your pick-ups in the comments! And best wishes to you all as we forge ahead into 2020.
