Hello, movie lovers!
With a new (and very busy) college semester quickly approaching, I’ve decided to suspend Off Topic Thursdays for the time being. In order to keep up with the daily posting schedule here at TMP on top of my coursework and internship, I’ve decided on the following features to fill the days when I don’t have a review to share:
- Tribute posts on nearly every Thursday (with the exception of October, which you can read more about below):
These posts will feature an actor or entertainment figure who was either born or passed away on the day of the post, and will often be similar to the tributes you’ve seen here previously (incl. a short bio and a few of my favorite performances). This will begin today (August 9).
- Favorite Things About Favorite Films series:
This one stems from a long-time habit of mine to watch a film I know very well when I get home from a particularly stressful or long school day. In order to save myself from feeling guilty for not watching new-to-me films during those times, I’ve devised a way to keep the blog chuggin’ along while also indulging in re-watches. (If I’m sounding a little bit obsessive and/or crazy to you right now, that’s probably because I am when it comes to film.) These will often be posted on Tuesdays, but I’ll stick the rare non-classics on Thursdays (in place of a tribute).
- Every Thursday in October will be dedicated to Reviews in a Line or Two, because I have four of them waiting to be shared but have no room on the blog calendar until October.
- Every once in a while, when I can’t possibly pull anything out of my brain, I’ll be sharing excerpts from my 20th century magazine/publication collection, including vintage ads and articles. Many of my old magazines are fan zines, so some of these posts will still be film-related.
I think that’s all I’ve got for you at the moment, dear visitors. If there’s anything you think this blog is lacking, or any new features aside from those listed above that you’d like to see, feel free to leave suggestions in the comments! And stay tuned later today for a tribute to Sharon Tate, who passed away on this day in 1969.
