I can’t believe it’s already September! This year has absolutely flown past me. School starts up again next week, and since I’m taking five upper-level classes, my number of monthly viewings will probably decrease quite a bit. Luckily, I was able to squeeze in a pretty good number of viewings in August and already have a ton of reviews drafted up, so keeping up with daily posts here shouldn’t be a problem. (For more on how I’ll keep the blog moving during my very busy 4th year of college, check out the announcement I made last month.)
August was an odd month. I watched a whole lot of TCM’s Summer Under the Stars programming, but I was also in the mood for horror, so I gravitated toward a few cheesy thrillers on Netflix. I also hit up Redbox a few times with my sister for classics such as Breaking Dawn (her choice, though it wasn’t a serious pick – we like to watch the series and laugh).
On to the stats!
New-to-me in August: 39
Re-watches in August: 11
Total watched this month: 50 (Theater trips: 0)
Total watched so far in 2012: 430

I remember watching The Sentinel years ago as a child at a friend’s house. Even then I thought it was a lame movie – but my friend’s mother made popcorn with real butter (as opposed to margarine at my house), and it was fantastic. The Sentinel always reminds me of really good, buttery popcorn.

Haha! Maybe popcorn would’ve saved my viewing experience. I didn’t hate the film, but it was definitely underwhelming. I’ll be posting a full review during the week of Halloween – I plan to post a horror review from a different decade (chronologically) every day that week.
