Welcome to the first monthly wrap-up of 2015! Despite the pressures of life and my return to graduate school from winter break, I was able to have a pretty successful viewing month. Let’s take a look, shall we?

(PS – If you’re wondering where the collection update is, those’ll be getting their own posts from now on, with a bit more detail regarding the DVD editions AND updates to my movie-related book/magazine collection!)

  • Internet Archive – 3
  • Netflix DVD – 2

A big month for WatchTCM! With the number of classics I haven’t yet watched on Netflix dwindling, I’ve been making good use of TCM’s online streaming service.

I also, as usual, spent a lot of time at the theater.

By decade:

  • 1910s – 0
  • 1920s – 2
  • 1930s – 12
  • 1940s – 6
  • 1950s – 3
  • 1960s – 3
  • 1970s – 0
  • 1980s – 0
  • 1990s – 0
  • 2000s – 1
  • 2010s – 10

Clearly I’ve had a thing for the ’30s lately! I’ve been watching a lot of pre-codes, and I see this trend continuing in February.

Monthly Highlights

A MILESTONE: TMP celebrated an anniversary this month! January 18 marked three years of blogging. We’re now a few weeks into the fourth year and I’d say it’s going pretty well, so far!

A NEW THEATER EXPERIENCE: While traveling I visited a Celebration! Cinema for the first time and was very impressed. I saw both Blackhat and Foxcatcher at this theater. Cute decor (neon lights at the entrance to every auditorium), comfortable seats, decent prices AND they sell cardboard cutouts of movie characters in the lobby. If there hadn’t been so many book stores calling my name, I definitely would have dropped $25 on a life-size Wizard of Oz Scarecrow, haha.

CLASSICS ON THE BIG SCREEN: I had the chance to see All About Eve at the Redford, which was a wonderful experience! You can read all about it here.
