I don’t think I’ve ever been so glad to be done with a year as I am to be done with 2018! But before we forge ahead and tack up our new 2019 calendars, let’s take a look back at what was watched in December.
New-to-me viewings: 20

December was one of my larger viewing months of 2018! Ending the year right. As you’ll see below, the majority of my viewings weren’t classic — I caught up on some 2017/2018 releases I’d meant to watch, went to the theater a lot, and watched plenty of Christmas movies. I did squeeze in a few favorite end-of-the-year classic discoveries, too, though!

The month in blogging:
- Collector’s Corner saw a pretty massive update in December, with the recent Criterion sale and all of my recent LIFE magazine finds. (I hit the jackpot when someone donated their entire LIFE collection to my local public library, where it filled several tables at the monthly book sale!)
- I reviewed 1945’s The Wicked Lady, one of my final favorite FilmStruck discoveries.
- I took a second look at 1948’s Berlin Express — and ensemble thriller partially shot on-location in post-war Germany.
- The “Favorite things about…” series took a look at Hitchcock’s Dial M for Murder.
Happy 2019! I hope the new year treats us all well, and that we make time for plenty of wonderful film discoveries!
Looks like you had a great month for movie-watching! I can’t believe you found a whole stack of Life magazines at a sale. That’s so awesome! Hope 2019 is a better year for us all! :)
