1955 was a pretty good year for film, with the release of such classics as Rebel Without a Cause, Marty, The Night of the Hunter, Disney’s The Lady and the Tramp, and one of my personal favorites, Alfred Hitchcock’s To Catch a Thief. But as is true for any year, for each big-reputation blockbuster there are half a dozen hidden gems to be discovered.
